Sci-fi, dino-taming survival game ARK 2 eyes a 2028 release with a little or a lot of Vin DIesel

Fans of the sci-fi, dino-taming survival game ARK: Survival Ascended will get their first taste of the long-anticipated sequel—ARK 2—in a major update hitting near the end of 2027.

ARK 2, Jeremy Stieglitz, co-founder of developer Studio Wildcard, said, is currently planned for a 2028 release.

The news came during publisher Snail Games’ Investor Day held at the NASDAQ Marketsite building in Times Square earlier this week, during which the studio walked through the game’s impressive milestones, details of a deeper relationship with actor Karl Urban, and plans for the franchise’s next two years.

Stieglitz walked attendees through the popular game’s two-year roadmap, which culminates in the release of Legacy of Santiago, a major expansion that will both narratively seed the release of ARK 2 as well as test out some of the new mechanics coming to the sequel.
