Xbox Series S is $299
September 8, 2020The Xbox Series S will sell for just $299 when it hits in November, Microsoft confirmed today.
The news comes after an image for the diminutive next-gen console leaked online last night.
A commercial for the Series S breaks down the specs for the smaller, less-powerful next-gen system coming from Microsoft. The system will feature a 512GB SSD, 1440p at up to 120 frames per second, DirectX Raytracing support, as well as support for variable rate shading and a variable refresh rate. The console won’t include a disc drive and will be 60 percent smaller than the Xbox Series X.
No official pricing has been announced yet for the Xbox Series X, but Windows Central writes that it will cost $499 and that both systems will launch on Nov. 10.
The Series X will feature a disc drive and offer support for real-time ray-tracing, at up to 8K resolution at up to 120 frames per second. The console will also feature something Microsoft refers to as audio ray-tracing. The X will come with a 1TB SSD and support external storage through a specially designed SSD expansion card.
